2. Smart Lighting

Get bright festive looking lamp/lamps and place it in an area you want to highlight. They can be placed in the porch, balcony or living room where you wish to entertain guests. The idea is to make the light the focal point of attraction and draw attention away from the areas that you did not get time to take care of.

3. Quick Upholstery Change

You’ll be surprised to see the how simple upholstery can make your home look more bright and festive. Go for fabrics with gold accents, contrasting neons and funky colour combinations. Here are a few cushion covers from our fabrics collection to give you an idea about the kind of upholstery we’re talking about.

4. Prayer Corner

Set-up a small temporary prayer corner and decorate it with flowers and diyas. It can be set-up right at the entrance of your home where guests can seek blessings as soon as they step in. The prayer corner will not only serve as a centre of attraction that exudes festive vibes, but also add a very traditional touch to your home décor.

5. Candles

It can’t get simpler than this. A few colourful candles scattered across your living room will not only brighten it up but also help set the perfect Diwali mood. The candles are widely available in local markets and easy to use. Here are a few bright terracotta candles from The Purple Turtles to help you get an idea about what you’ve got to watch out for on your last minute Diwali shopping spree :)
